Educational Requirements:
∎ Degree level qualification. Good music theory.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Playing a role model as a mentor.
∎ House tutoring the students.
∎ Keeping record of all academic progress of your given set of students.
∎ Participate in the curriculum revision process.
∎ Participate in personal and professional growth.
∎ Participate in positive team planning, including work with specialist teachers.
∎ Participation in community service project.
∎ Participate in coaching, outdoor education trips, school-wide events, and/or extracurricular activities.
∎ Sharing instructional resources with the peers actively.
∎ Use the IB curriculum to ensure consistency in implementation throughout the school.
∎ Mentoring students as role models.
∎ Most importantly, teacher should be responsible for student's overall improvement in academics and in other extracurricular actives.
∎ Teaches skills in music understanding/appreciation, harmony, explorations in music and choral music to elementary pupils.
∎ Plans/executes a balanced music program and organizes class time so that preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
∎ Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the music curriculum to the needs of each pupil. Encourages students to develop individual musical skills to the greatest extent possible.
∎ Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, including traditional and contemporary that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of pupils.
∎ Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned music, musical instruments and equipment to prevent loss or abuse. Makes minor adjustments and requests repairs to instruments as required.
∎ Evaluates each pupil's musical growth, performance, and musical understanding. Assesses each individual's contribution to the performance of the group.
∎ Leading school choir and other music ensembles. Leading weekly singing assemblies.
∎ Leading and organizing whole school musical events, performances and visits.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ To be able to conduct whole class singing and the playing of instruments.
∎ To be able to lead and produce whole class performances.
∎ To be able to read music to a basic level.
∎ Demonstrates excellent classroom practice.
