Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in English Language
∎ University degree desirable
∎ Skills Required: Effective Communication
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 1 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
Health, NGO/ Other Services, public health, Translation
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
NGO
∎ Freshers are also encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ - Inform medical staff about important cultural nuances to consider during a meeting, medical consultation or interview with local people.
∎ - Participate in staff trainings and meetings as an interpreter.
∎ - Provide face to face interpreting, as well as during telephone and radio calls or other telecom devices, when necessary.
∎ - Adapt communication to any circumstances, using appropriate language registry as well as diplomatic and courtesy manners.
∎ - Translate MSF internal / external documents into local language(s).
∎ - Keep record of all translated documents.
∎ - Look after all equipment provided, i.e. dictionaries or other books that belong to MSF
∎ - Ensure confidentiality and medical secrecy
∎ - Provide translation from Chittagongian dialect to English and vice versa during supervision consultations word by word as expressed for OPD department
∎ - Ensure the code of conduct when working with medical patients during OPD
∎ - Provide translation for trainings, discussions and meetings for OPD department
∎ - Support medical unit expats by translation upon request
∎ - Ensure transfer of clear messages during translation with proper pause, eye contact and body language
∎ - Participate to the collection of Data for OPD Department.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Fluent in Bangla and Chittagongian languages. English language intermediate level essential
∎ NGO experience desirable
∎ Candidates living in Ukhiya will be prioritized
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Medical allowance, Over time allowance
