Requirements:

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Teach one or two undergraduate and/or graduate course/s in the Department of English and Humanities.
∎ Prepare course outlines, course calendars and lesson plans; conduct theoretical, tutorial, and practical classes, and any additional form of instruction, research or counseling pertinent to the discharge of academic instruction when required or appropriate.
∎ Supervise students’ work inside and outside the classroom, and offer office hours for student consultation according to the university’s requirement.
∎ Conduct research and develop teaching materials.·         Actively participate in all department activities including events, seminars, conferences, etc.
∎ Manage the university’s writing center, the English Zone (EZ), serving as a valuable student support service for language skills improvement
∎ Design and execute programs for the EZ to engage and enhance all ULAB students' language skills
∎ Organize, facilitate, and schedule academic English learning tutorials and workshops, on behalf of the EZ, for all ULAB students, collaborating with suitable facilitator.
∎ As Advisor to the EZ, lead and train a team of peer tutors, including their selection, scheduling, monitoring, and supervision.
∎ Design and distribute promotional materials to raise awareness of English Zone activities including on social media.
∎ Prepare the EZ’s annual event calendar, budget, and reports ensuring effective planning and evaluation of activities.·
∎ As Advisor to the EZ, collaborate closely with different administrative offices, departments, and clubs to provide targeted services and support.
∎ JOB CONTEXT
∎ The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled faculty member to fill the position Lecturer cum Advisor to English Zone. The incumbent will conduct one or two course/s per term under Department of English and Humanities. Besides, as an Advisor, s/he will be responsible for managing the English Zone (EZ), a student support service aimed at enhancing language skills and providing academic English learning resources to all ULAB students. S/he is expected to play a significant role in organizing tutorials, workshops, and other activities, ensuring high-quality support to ULAB's diverse student body.
∎ REPORTING
∎ The incumbent will report to the Head, Department of English and Humanities
∎ MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
