∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Reinforce the written, taught and learned elements of the IB Bengali curriculum framework and the ongoing development of both the environment and subject-based units of inquiry
∎ Collaboration of Leadership team and teachers for the integration of stand-alone, single subjects and Bengali curriculum units of inquiry.
∎ Schedule regular meetings with Year level teams and single subject teachers.
∎ Participate in school wide Bengali curriculum development committee.
∎ Assist with the publication of the curriculum development committee and the school community.
∎ Source new teaching materials, websites, professional books and journals learning, growing, understanding.
∎ Assist teachers in the planning and implementation of the Bengali curriculum. (Attendance at divisional meetings, classroom walk through and observations, organizing and leading professional development sessions).
∎ Help out with the exhibition in the final year of the program.
∎ Monitor requests for Bengali Program development and assist with registration for workshops.
∎ To comply with all school policies and guidelines and take part in whole-school reviews of policy and aims.
∎ To provide or contribute to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to the development and learning of individual pupils and groups of pupils.
∎ To evaluate and review one's own teaching methods, materials and schemes of work, and to make changes as appropriate.
∎ To keep up-to-date with current educational thinking and practice, both by study and by attendance at courses, workshops and meetings, and take part in appraisals and reviews of one's work arranged by the Head.
∎ To establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other staff members, exhibit appropriate professional conduct and dress, and communicate positive aspects of our school to the public.
∎ Participate in off-site student field trips.
∎ Attend meetings such as staff and departmental meetings.
∎ Carry out supervisory duties at break times and / or at the beginning or end of the school day.
∎ Participate in parent-teacher meetings.
∎ Attend special events and support student functions outside of the regular school day.
∎ Teach after-school enrichment classes for students who need extra help.
∎ To perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Be aligned with the PHIS values of diversity, passion, identity and understanding.
∎ A comprehensive understanding of contemporary teaching, learning theories and practice.
∎ Extensive knowledge and understanding of Bengali curriculum and the IB Program.
∎ Practical understanding of collaborative planning and use of PYP, MYP and DP will be preferred
∎ Experience in adult learning and contemporary leadership practices
∎ An understanding of the principal of shared pedagogical leadership
