∎ Reporting Lines:
∎ The Junior National Website development specialist is a SC 06 position who will work under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative, the direct supervision of the the Environment Climate Change Specialist (Team Leader) and in close collaboration with national and international consultants in the project team, and the technical backstopping of the Lead Technical Officer (LTO) at FAO Bangkok.
∎ Technical Focus:
∎ The Junior National Website development specialist will be a part of a national team to provide technical assistance in the areas of developing the communication strategy and ensuring proper dissemination of information through electronic media.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist the Bangladesh Forest Department (FD) in the review and improvement of the current Bangladesh Forest Information System (BFIS) and digital platforms;
∎ Design, build, and maintain website and software;
∎ Coordinate the editing, writing, or designing of Website content, and directing EFCC team members and partners who produce content.
∎ Assist in organizing adequate training for website development and maintenance;
∎ Support in compiling all data from field data collection teams for archiving into a central database;
∎ Direct or perform Website updates and back up files from Web sites to local directories for recovery
∎ Maintain an understanding of the latest Web applications and programming practices
∎ Evaluate code to ensure it meets common standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems;
∎ Identify and report problems uncovered by partner's feedback and testing, and correcting or referring problems to appropriate personnel for correction; and
∎ Assist in any other tasks under the project at the instruction of the FAO Representative, the LTO, and the Team Leader.
Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with online information systems and website design and maintenance.
∎ Working knowledge (level C) of English and Bangla.
∎ National of Bangladesh.
