Job Responsibilities:
∎ Design and layout sprinkler systems using specialized CAD software packages that are based on the AutoCAD platform.
∎ Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components. Perform hydraulic calculations.
∎ Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
∎ Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classification and architectural features.
∎ Work closely with the Estimation department, Design Manager, and Operations Manager to review the scope sheet and requirements of each project.
∎ Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and quality improvement
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 50 years
∎ Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required. HydraCAD is preferred.
∎ Visualizes 3D concepts and solves basic mathematical problems, including geometry and algebra
∎ Proficient in interpreting and applying applicable NFPA 13 standards, and in reading and interpreting construction documents.
∎ Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC
∎ Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings
∎ Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
∎ Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment
∎ Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
∎ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
