Education:

Bachelor`s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.

Experience: Proven experience as a fashion designer, preferably in a similar role or industry.

Skills:

• Strong creative vision and artistic ability.

• Excellent sketching and illustration skills.

• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.

• Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and fabric properties.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Working Conditions:

• Regular office hours, with additional hours as needed to meet deadlines.

Job Summary:

The Fashion Designer is responsible for creating innovative and trend-setting designs for the company’s clothing lines. This role involves conceptualizing designs, creating sketches, selecting fabrics and patterns, and overseeing the production process to ensure the final product aligns with the original vision. The Fashion Designer will collaborate closely with other designers, production teams, and marketing departments to bring the latest fashion trends to life.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Conceptualization:

• Research current fashion trends and anticipate future trends.
• Develop design concepts, mood boards, and storyboards.
• Create original designs and translate them into sketches and technical drawings.
• Present design ideas to the creative team and stakeholders for approval.

Fabric and Material Selection:

• Choose appropriate fabrics, colors, and patterns for each design.
• Source materials and trims that complement the design vision.
• Collaborate with the fabric sourcing team to ensure material availability and quality.

Pattern Making and Prototyping:

• Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for each design.
• Work with pattern makers and seamstresses to develop initial prototypes.
• Adjust designs based on prototype feedback and ensure fit and quality standards are met.

Production Oversight:

• Oversee the production process to ensure designs are executed accurately.
• Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Ensure that final products meet design specifications and quality standards.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with other designers, production teams, and marketing departments.
• Communicate design ideas and specifications clearly to all stakeholders.
• Participate in design meetings, fittings, and production reviews.

Market and Trend Analysis:

• Stay updated on market trends, consumer preferences, and industry developments.
• Analyze competitors’ designs and products to identify opportunities for differentiation.
• Incorporate market research and trend analysis into design concepts.

Collection Development:

• Develop seasonal collections in line with the brand’s aesthetic and market demand.
• Ensure cohesive and innovative collections that resonate with the target audience.
• Balance creativity with commercial viability to achieve sales targets.
