Responsibilities & Context:

Managing the design process from conception to final styling, for knitted cut & sew apparel, woven and denim lines.

Conducting market research to identify the latest new trends, fabrics and techniques, and seeking design inspiration. Staying up to date with recent trends and competitor leading market brands.

Collaborating with team members to select seasonal themes, make edits to line, and create new concepts.

Sourcing and selecting fabric, trims and accessories, embellishments like prints and washes.

Creating production sketches for development packages. Make timely tech files.

Collaborating with technical designer to ensure development packages are accurate.

Reviewing product for style and fit during the presentation. Follow brand’s requirements.

Working with others in the design team to develop products to meet brand’s requirements.

Maintain close relationships with the marketing and merchandising team to create ranges for all customers. All departments including Menswear, Ladieswear, Kidswear, Babywear, Sportswear, Nightwear, Leisurewear and Casual.

Analyze and clearly understand the design from a technical perspective, i.e. producing patterns and technical specifications for designs.

Make risk assessment of the design, in terms of production friendliness and conforming with quality standards of the brand.

Presenting story, mood-boards, color boards, and collection samples to buyers.
