Experience:
• Practical experience in fire safety systems, emergency response and compliance audits.
• Experience working with international buyer safety standards will be preferred.
• Good understanding of firefighting systems and emergency management.
• Must have training certificate from Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD), Bangladesh.
Position Purpose
To ensure a safe and compliant working environment at Jamuna Poly Silk Limited by implementing fire safety systems, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining compliance with Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC), Labor Law and international buyer safety standards. The role focuses on preventing fire hazards, ensuring emergency preparedness and promoting safety awareness in garments manufacturing operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations as per Bangladesh Labor Law and buyer requirements.
• Monitor and maintain all fire detection and firefighting equipment (fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, sprinklers, etc.).
• Conduct regular fire safety inspections and identify potential hazards and risks.
• Ensure all emergency exits, fire doors, staircases and evacuation routes remain clear and functional.
• Organize and conduct fire drills and evacuation exercises on a regular basis.
• Train employees, fire wardens and rescue team members on fire safety procedures and emergency response.
• Prepare and update fire safety plans, evacuation maps and emergency response procedures.
• Maintain records of fire safety equipment, inspection logs, drill reports and training activities.
• Coordinate with Compliance, HR and Maintenance teams to ensure workplace safety standards.
• Assist in internal, external and buyer audits related to fire and building safety.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of flammable and hazardous materials.
• Liaise with local fire service authorities and regulatory bodies when required.
