Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Disaster Management or relevant discipline.
Relevant professional certification/training in Fire Safety, Occupational Safety, First Aid, Emergency Response, Risk Assessment or related areas will be preferred.
Strong knowledge of fire prevention and workplace safety.
Risk assessment and hazard identification.
Emergency response and fire drill management.
Incident investigation and reporting.
Knowledge of fire-fighting equipment and systems.
Training and presentation skills.
Strong communication and leadership ability.
MS Office/Excel and documentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and respond during emergencies.
Strong discipline, alertness and safety mindset.
Fire Safety Management: Implement and monitor fire prevention and protection systems throughout the factory.
Fire Equipment Inspection: Regularly inspect fire extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps, alarms, detectors, emergency exits and other fire-fighting equipment.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop, implement and regularly review emergency response plans for fire, explosion, chemical leakage, natural disasters and other emergencies.
Fire Drill & Training: Organize regular fire drills, emergency evacuation drills, fire-fighting training and awareness sessions for employees and workers.
Risk Assessment: Conduct workplace fire and safety risk assessments, identify hazards and recommend appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
Safety Inspection: Conduct routine inspections of production, warehouse, utility, electrical, boiler, chemical storage, workshop and other high-risk areas.
Permit-to-Work System: Monitor and enforce applicable permit systems such as hot work, confined space, work at height, electrical work and other hazardous activities.
PPE & Safety Compliance: Ensure appropriate PPE availability and usage and monitor employee compliance with safety procedures.
Incident Investigation: Investigate fire, near-miss, injury and other safety incidents, identify root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
Emergency Response Team: Develop and maintain trained Emergency Response/Fire Fighting Teams and ensure their readiness for emergency situations.
Fire & Safety Documentation: Maintain inspection checklists, fire equipment records, drill reports, training records, incident reports, risk assessments and other safety documentation.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable Bangladesh fire safety, occupational safety, environmental and factory-related requirements and support regulatory inspections.
Contractor Safety: Monitor safety compliance of contractors, visitors and third-party workers working inside the factory premises.
Coordination with Departments: Work closely with Production, Engineering, HR, Administration, Security, Warehouse and other departments to identify and control safety risks.
Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement safety improvement initiatives to reduce fire hazards, workplace risks, accidents and unsafe practices.
