To strengthen our Commercial function, we are seeking experienced and performance-driven professionals for the position of Manager / Deputy Manager (Import – Commercial).
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day import and commercial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting business continuity through accurate documentation, effective coordination and sound commercial governance.
Oversee end-to-end import operations for raw materials, machinery, spare parts, and chemicals, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective imports.
Manage all import documentation and banking processes, including LC preparation, submission, amendment, negotiation, payments, and coordination with banks and financial institutions.
Maintain effective communication and negotiation with international suppliers, shipping lines, customs authorities, C&F agents, insurance companies, and relevant government bodies.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations, HS code verification, import permits, duties, tariffs, taxes, and clearance procedures to avoid delays.
Coordinate closely with procurement, production, finance, legal, and quality teams to align import schedules with production plans, budgets, and contractual requirements.
Control import budgets through supplier negotiation, cost analysis (freight, duty, insurance, handling), and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
Arrange and manage insurance coverage for imported goods and handle claims for damage, loss, inferior quality, or discrepancies with insurers and foreign suppliers.
Supervise logistics and delivery from port to mill premises, ensuring smooth transportation and on-time receipt of goods.
Monitor inventory levels of imported materials to support uninterrupted production and optimal stock management.
Resolve import-related issues such as shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, quality non-compliance, and customs or logistics challenges.
Maintain accurate records and databases for import transactions, customs bonds, undertakings, bills, and foreign trade–related accounts.
Prepare and submit periodic import reports to management covering shipment status, costs, inventory, risks, and overall import performance.
