Job Context:
The Deputy Manager (Environment & Regulatory Affairs) will be responsible for ensuring full environmental compliance and regulatory lenience for a large-scale power plant. The role requires strong knowledge of ETP operation, DOE regulations, environmental monitoring, EHS training, and site safety practices. The position will ensure that all plants operations follow national environmental laws, corporate standards, and project-specific guidelines while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Job Description / Responsibility:
Assist in conducting Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) activities when required.
Oversee ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensure compliance with DOE requirements.
Prepare documentation and ensure timely renewal of all environmental licenses and approvals from DOE (Environmental Clearance Certificate, ETP approval, etc.).
Handle and maintain all regulatory Licence including Fire Service & Civil Defence (Fire License), Building Plan Approval, Factory Licence, Boiler Licence, and Explosive Licence.
Prepare documentation and ensure timely renewal of all environmental licenses and approvals from DOE (Environmental Clearance Certificate, ETP renewal etc.).
Manage application, documentation, and permission process for walkie-talkie approval and other required government regulatory bodies.
Maintain updated Fire & Industrial compliance records and ensure zero non-compliance with applicable laws, codes, and standards.
Oversee proper management of solid waste, hazardous waste, and scrap disposal as per DOE guidelines.
Inspect and evaluate chemical storage facilities, welfare facilities (toilets, drinking water, rest areas), and labor accommodation.
Identify EHS non-compliance, prepare corrective action plans (CAP), and ensure timely closure of findings.
