Position Description:
BAIUST invites applications from dynamic, qualified, and committed individuals for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Law. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, academic leadership, and service to both the university and the broader academic community.
Key Responsibilities – Assistant Professor (Law):
Teach undergraduate law courses in alignment with the approved university curriculum, with emphasis on foundational subjects such as Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Law of Contract, Law of Torts, Criminal Law, Civil and Criminal Procedure, and Property Law.
Develop and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and case-based discussions using modern teaching methods that foster legal reasoning, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and professional ethics.
Supervise and mentor students in academic activities, including research papers, moot court competitions, legal aid clinics, debates, and other co-curricular engagements that strengthen practical legal skills.
Conduct quality research in relevant areas of law and contribute to scholarly publications, academic workshops, and conferences at national and international levels.
Ensure that teaching content is regularly updated in light of recent legislative reforms, judicial interpretations, and global trends in legal studies.
Contribute to curriculum design and review, integrating Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices, and participate in academic quality assurance initiatives to maintain high educational standards.
Build linkages with courts, law firms, NGOs, government bodies, and professional legal institutions to facilitate student internships, guest lectures, and industry exposure.
Participate actively in departmental governance, university committees, and institutional development initiatives, supporting collaborative decision-making and academic growth.
Engage in community outreach, legal awareness programs, and interdisciplinary collaborations that promote justice, equality, and rule of law in society.
Keep abreast of emerging areas of law such as cyber law, digital rights, environmental justice, and human rights, and incorporate them into teaching and research as appropriate.
Undertake any additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the university authority in support of academic excellence and institutional objectives.
