Job Responsibilities:
∎ The key responsibility of the Assistant Health Coordinator is to assist the Health Coordinator to the quality delivery of day-to-day health services & activities of the healthcare facilities for the Rohingya communities. Uphold effective and timely communication among and between the facility based team members and Cox's Bazar based staff members through at least 5 days monitoring visits in a week to the health facilities. Monitor time supply of required medicine & logistics.
∎ General Responsibilities:
∎ Program Management-
∎ Ensure the consistency as per agreed PPA and SOP;
∎ Ensure correct data collection, and follow the correct processes and ana-lyze the medical data on a regular basis to provide input in GK Monthly /UNHCR HIS Report and others reports as when required;
∎ Supervise the team members on random basis posted at health facilities and shed level through field visits for monitoring the quality of delivering services;
∎ Respond to any change by proposing a program suitable to the Health Coordinator and support team (at Cox's Bazar) in case of outbreaks, new needs arising, new influx or any unwanted social move etc.
∎ Ensure integration of the different component of the project (mental health and psychosocial support, outreach health education activities, physiotherapy treatment/support and accountability meetings etc.);
∎ Assist Health Coordinator to work in close collaboration with logistics de-partment, especially for medical & non-medical orders;
∎ Monitor all the secondary and tertiary referrals made by the PHC and provide feedback based on referral SOP to PHC staff;
∎ Assisting in the collection of information on national health policy (meetings, reports, articles, etc.), Emergency preparedness, collecting and participating in the analysis of epidemiological data (meetings, reports, articles, etc.) from the projects & other sources and ensure to disseminate to the field (the concerned people);
∎ Team management-
∎ Involved and contribute in staff recruitment, monitor the performance of the medical team through regular appraisals (it could be every 5 to 6 months) and develop an action plan for any improvement & follow-up;
∎ Ensure compliance with GK policy and procedures to staff under direct supervision;
∎ Approve a monthly duty roster for all health facilities in consultation with Health Coordinator at least 5 days ahead staring duty - the duty roster to be produced by the Clinic Manager;
∎ Provide technical support to the Clinic Manager and his/er team on the spot (if necessary) during field visit and/or provide written feedback on the visit;
∎ Organize regular monthly meetings, briefings and debriefings with the medical team immediately after field visit;
∎ Train the medical staff (day to day mentoring and thematic workshop) according to the identified needs;
∎ Maintain good inter-team communications, engender good team dy-namics, and take suitable action when problems occur;
∎ Support team members professionally sound and supportive stress man-agement, including regular documented team meetings for planning and reporting purposes.
∎ Arrange staff placement and induction in consultation with HC.
∎ Management of medical & non-medical stock and logistic chain-
∎ Support Clinic Managers to place requisition of monthly medicine & con-sumables in advance (at least 10 days) along with last month's consump-tion report for the procurement/supply process;
∎ Ensure the supervision of the pharmacist (consumptions, orders & inven-tory) and ensure that supported health facilities receive drugs and con-sumables on time;
∎ Support and recommend annual procurement plan of non-medical items;
∎ Ensure quality control of storage of medical and non-medical stocks through Pharmacist and Logistic focal persons;
∎ Participating, advising and guiding the logistics team in the mission of drug stock management;
∎ Ensure proper waste management through the Clinic Manager and Waste management focal person;
∎ Coordination with Funding partners and other stakeholders-
∎ Participate in the different medical meetings, especially the health and nutrition clusters and any relevant medical coordination in camps and share the minutes of the meetings;
∎ Establish and maintain strong professional relationship with Camp in Charge (CiC) and other relevant service providers in the project camps;
∎ Represent and coordinate with other agencies at camp level & as back up of Health Coordinator, local government, donors and other stakeholders promote, deliver of best practice, humanitarian assistance as per assignment from GK's management as when needed basis;
∎ Reporting and communication-
∎ Provide support to the medical/non-medical staff and play a lead role is maintaining the duty roster for staff based on the health facilities;
∎ Monitoring the quality of delivering services from health facilities through visiting projects according to preset schedule and terms of the reference;
∎ (At least 5 days in a week: one PHC in one day/ two health posts in one day).
∎ Assisting in the implementation of National /International medical standards, the rules of hygiene and universal pre-cautions in service; (which could include primary and secondary health, reproductive health, nutrition, and outbreak responses)
∎ Ensure standard practice for recording and reporting as per SOP.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 35 to 50 years
∎ Proven ability in resource mobilization in health emergencies;
∎ Demonstrated skills in effectively managing and building programs and/or operations in high-pressure, fluid environments. Leadership and team management skills are essential;
∎ Prior success in managing an emergency environment and / or start-up environment as part of a team;
∎ Excellent capability to represent the GK in forums in emergency settings and excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations to professional and donor audiences;
∎ Proven writing and editing skills, including the ability to effectively write and edit grant proposals and reports;
∎ Effective people and program management skills in acute emergency contexts: the ability to train, lead and manage staff productively under stressful circumstances;
∎ Flexible work attitude: Be flexible and yet focused & reliable in an environment of changing demands; Good computer skills: facility with MS Word, Excel, and email/internet software. Multilingual skills advantageous - with priority placed on English, Bengali and Local Chittagonian Languages.
∎ Special Note-
∎ Carry out any additional assignment in accordance with her/is position entrusted with the GK Management from time to time and mutually agreed upon;
∎ Management may, at any point of time, modify this job description as it is deemed necessary in Gonoshasthaya Kendra's interests in consultation with the person concerned and UNHCR;
∎ The employee shall respect Gonoshasthaya Kendra schedule, Terms, and Conditions and is anticipated to be available anytime in order to respond to an emergency.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 140000 (Monthly)
