Job Context:
∎ The position is at the head office of stock brokerage company based in Chittagong with branches in various locations around the country. The company is both a Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) Trading Right Entitlement Certificate (TREC) holder. The company has been in operations since 2005 and currently serves thousands of clients. You will be joining a small but growing team of hardworking individuals.

∎ The company is looking for a dynamic Accounting and Compliance Manager with sufficient experience in the capital market. The candidate must be able to handle all accounting requirements of a mid-sized non-banking financial institution (NBFI) and at the same time, ensure all compliance requirements from Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) are fulfilled.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Handle all day to day accounting activities of an NBFI.
∎ Ensure accuracy of all financial data and monitor various risk management tools.
∎ Prepare all financial statements including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements at regular intervals.
∎ Aid the executive team with financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
∎ Work with IT vendors to update accounting software to ensure greater efficiency and accuracy.
∎ Ensure all compliance requirements of BSEC, DSE, CSE and other regulatory authorities.
∎ Liaison with regulatory authorities in case of any noncompliance.
∎ Stay up to date with all accounting and tax policies, rules and regulations and new financial products.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years' experience in an accounting or finance position. Supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
∎ Experience with preparing annual financial statement of a company.
∎ Excellent IT skills including expertise of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and any accounting software.
∎ Thorough knowledge of all rules and regulations applicable to a stock brokerage firm including regulations of BSEC, DSE, CSE, CDBL, labor law, tax/VAT law, companies act, etc.
∎ Must be well informed about the capital market and Bangladesh economy.
∎ Excellent level of interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.
∎ Be enthusiastic, hardworking, committed and result oriented.
∎ Be a capable team-player.
∎ Be a good leader.
∎ Be proficient in Bangla and English
∎ Be very curious with a drive to learn new things
∎ Have a detailed oriented and analytical mind focused on problem solving
