Responsibilities & Context:

Wash Process Development

• Develop new washing techniques (e.g., enzyme, stone, bleach, acid wash, etc.) according to buyer requirements.
• Create and test wash recipes and samples for buyer approval.
• Ensure correct color shade, hand feel, and appearance of washed garments.

Sample & Approval Handling

• Prepare lab dips, wash samples, and pre-production (PP) samples.
• Submit samples to buyers or merchandisers for approval.
• Adjust wash formulas based on feedback to match the target shade.

Production Monitoring

• Supervise washing during bulk production to ensure consistency.
• Monitor chemical dosage, temperature, time, and machine settings.
• Solve technical problems that occur during the washing process.

Quality Control

• Check shade variation, color fastness, fabric shrinkage, and garment damage.
• Ensure washed garments meet buyer standards for appearance and quality.
• Work with QC and production teams to maintain uniform results.

Chemical & Machine Management

• Handle washing chemicals, enzymes, and auxiliaries safely.
• Calibrate and maintain washing, drying, and hydro machines.
• Keep records of chemical usage and consumption.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain wash recipe sheets, sample records, and production reports.
• Report any technical or quality issues to the Wash Manager or Production Head.

Buyer Communication & Support

• Support buyer technicians during wash approvals or inspections.
• Explain process flow and technical parameters if required.

Research & Development (R&D)

• Experiment with new washing methods, eco-friendly chemicals, and sustainable washing techniques.
• Stay updated with market trends in denim and garment finishing.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in the washing plant.
• Ensure proper waste treatment and chemical handling as per compliance standards.
