Job Responsibilities:
∎ Mission:
∎ Under the authority of the Program Manager, the Wash Activity Manager will be responsible for:
∎ Implementing the activities and meeting the objectives as defined in the operation proposals
∎ Supervise the WASH operational team
∎ Ensure the timely implementation of the WASH activities, that SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL's quality standards are met and proposes adjustments or developments to ensure relevance if necessary
∎ TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Project Implementation:
∎ Participate in the preparation and implementation of assessments
∎ Plan and supervise the implementation of the WASH activities according to the set objectives and SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL standards
∎ Make sure the objectives for the activities under his/her responsibility are achieved and the deadlines are met
∎ Partake in the whole WASH activities implementation process from Technical Assessment to implementation and monitoring
∎ Regularly visit the activities' sites
∎ Identify and anticipate any risks and constraints related to the WASH activities and propose alternate strategies to the WASH Deputy Program Manager
∎ In collaboration with the WASH Deputy Program Manager and the Outreach Team adapt the beneficiary selection methodology as necessary, in particular, the beneficiary selection criteria
∎ Assess the relevance of activities, the effectiveness of interventions, and their appropriateness in light of changing circumstances and the needs of populations, propose adjustments to programs if necessary
∎ Use the SI management and monitoring tools for the activities, results and context
∎ Human resources management
∎ Partake in the recruitment of national technical staff
∎ With the administrative department, define the prerequisites for the WASH vacant positions and, if necessary, adapt the referent job profile
∎ Welcome and brief new employees working under his/her responsibility
∎ Prepare the planning of the team under his/her supervision
∎ Organise regular meetings and workshops with program team members
∎ Manage and support the team under his/her responsibility
∎ Supervise and monitor potential conflicts within the team and inform the WASH Deputy Program Manager in case of problem
∎ Identify any training needs and implement training activities in accordance with operational requirements
∎ Participate in the development of the WASH team's technical et methodological capacities
∎ Evaluate the performance of the members of his/her team
∎ Identify team members' potential for advancement and communicate this information to the Program Manager
∎ Monitor teams to ensure that they are adhering to health and safety regulations
∎ Logistics and administration
∎ Prepare Internal Order Forms (IOF) and follow orders in collaboration with the logistics department
∎ Support the WASH Deputy Program Manager with the assessment of human needs, logistical and financial resources needed at different stages of the activities
∎ Ensure that the safety of persons and equipment at intervention/project sites is guaranteed
∎ Partake in the updating of tools for monitoring financial, logistical and operational activities (Operational Follow-Up, Project Planning Monitoring, Budget Follow-Up, indicators follow-up)
∎ Compile the weekly schedules for transportation
∎ Monitoring, Evaluation and coordination
∎ In collaboration with the WASH Deputy Program Manager and the monitoring team adapt the monitoring and evaluation tools and methodologies as necessary
∎ Support the monitoring and evaluation surveys conducted by the Outreach team and the construction supervisors.
∎ In link with the WASH Deputy Program Manager, coordination with other operational departments
∎ In link with the WASH Deputy Program Manager, coordinate with external actors
∎ Reporting
∎ Report any type of problem encountered on the field
∎ Be responsible for the production of administrative documents to be signed jointly with governmental authorities, communities, beneficiaries or partners
∎ Immediately report any problems or information that could affect the projects/activities or the security of the teams to the WASH Deputy Program Manager
∎ Check with the team the arrival and departure to and from the field.
∎ Ensure the collection and compilation of information about the progress of projects/activities from the team
∎ Write regular reports on the progress of the activities for the WASH Deputy Program Manager
∎ Partake in the drafting of reports and schedules/appendices related to the activities for donors and/or sponsors
∎ Maintain a local operational communication network and positive relations with the local/governmental authorities, donor representatives, UN and other international agencies in cooperation with the WASH Deputy Program Manager and Program Manager
∎ Represent SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in collaboration with the WASH Deputy Program Manager for the projects/activities to the relevant bodies: local authorities, sector, partners, ... within his/her employment location
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 4-5 years working experience on WASH projects either within the NGO sector or within the private sector
∎ The ideal candidate would have both strong management experience working with several with exposure to WASH projects and experience in an engineering position. However, in the absence of both, a strong preference on either skillset complemented by the other profile components would be accepted
∎ Males and females are encouraged to apply
∎ Others Requirement:
∎ Strong stakeholder management experience and negotiation skills
∎ Previous experience coordinating with private contractors, Bangladeshi government, and/or other NGOs is a plus
∎ Good level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT). ideally AutoCad, and capacity to learn new software
∎ Language proficiency: English and Banglad skills are required for writing, typing, and speaking. Ability to speak the Chittagonian dialect is an added value
∎ Good knowledge and experience on Project Cycle Management
∎ Proven capacity to write internal and external reports
∎ Capacity to train his/her team
∎ Well organized and with good interpersonal and communication skill
∎ Able to communicate with tact and diplomacy and to work and communicate effectively with several stakeholders at different levels
∎ Ability to coordinate externally and represent the organization
∎ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
∎ Ability to take initiative
Salary:
∎ Monthly Salary: BDT 76900/-
