Job Context: We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Waiter / Waitress cum Hostess to join our team at FoodExpo (Restaurant), Expotech outlet, Bogura.
Job Responsibilities:
A) Customer Service:
Greet guests as they arrive, and escort them to their tables.
Present menus and explain daily specials, menu items, and promotions.
Provide recommendations to guests based on their preferences and dietary restrictions.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
B) Order Management:
Ensure that orders are served in a timely and efficient manner.
Check on guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction with food and service.
Handle any complaints or issues with professionalism, and escalate to the supervisor if necessary.
Process payments accurately, including handling cash, credit cards, and mobile payment options.
C) Table Maintenance:
Set up and clear tables before, during, and after service.
Ensure that table settings are clean, well-arranged, and properly stocked with cutlery, glasses, and napkins.
Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including the immediate cleaning of spills or breakages.
Replenish condiments, sauces, and other table items as needed.
D) Host Duties:
Manage reservations, including taking phone calls and updating the reservation system.
Coordinate the seating arrangements to optimize the use of space, especially during busy times or events.
Ensure a waiting list is managed efficiently and communicate waiting times to guests.
Assist in organizing and coordinating special events, functions, and banquets in the convention center.
E) Communication and Teamwork:
Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of orders.
Communicate any specific guest needs or requests to the appropriate department.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and service standards.
Collaborate with fellow waiters, waitresses, and hosts to maintain a positive work environment.
F) Health and Safety:
Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards as per local regulations.
Follow restaurant protocols for handling and serving food, including allergen awareness.
