∎ Position Summary:
∎ Democracy International seeks to hire a consultant to serve as a Video Production Expert by provide training & mentorship support to civil society for using video technology to reach target groups about their legal rights and responsibilities through short video clips (1-5 minutes). This may include NGOs, law schools, and other groups working to improve the lives of vulnerable groups in Bangladesh. The Video Production Expert will be responsible for developing training/workshop related materials, facilitating trainings, and providing mentorship support to organizations working to increase their skills at developing short videos to increase citizen knowledge of their legal rights and responsibilities. Travel within Bangladesh will be required.
∎ Reporting:
∎ This position reports to Advocacy and Outreach Component Lead. All deliverables must be approved by the Chief of Party.
∎ Level of Effort:
∎ It is expected that Video Production Expert will work no more than 15 days on this assignment for a 6-month period following the signing of the contract. Upon successful completion of this contract, the Expert will only be compensated for days agreed in writing by the Activity, and will be paid on a monthly basis against a timesheet. If travel is required, the Activity will bear the travel expenses in accordance with its official policy.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Essential Duties:
∎ Arranging all technical aspects of the Video Development training, including tailoring the training materials to the participants and delivering the trainings. For each training the Expert will also be responsible for tailoring the messages to vulnerable groups and means of distribution (most commonly social media). The Activity will provide logistics support, such as venue and AV equipment when needed.
∎ Deliverables:
∎ A lesson plan for each training, outlining the objectives, the specific learning activities, a means for assessing knowledge of the participants, and a realistic timeline. This is to be approved by the Activity prior of the training.
∎ Certification of leading the training as per the lesson plan.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience on video development and facilitating relevant training and documentation
∎ Knowledge of legal rights and responsibilities
∎ Experience working with civil society organizations
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla
