Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Perform thorough pre-dialysis assessments of patients, including checking vital signs and reviewing medical history.
∎ Prepare and operate dialysis machines, ensuring proper setup and maintenance.
∎ Work closely with nephrologists, dietitians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
∎ Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, treatments, patient responses, and any incidents or changes in condition.
∎ Continuously monitor and assess critically ill patients, focusing on cardiovascular and respiratory status, vital signs, and other essential parameters.
∎ Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as per physician orders and protocols.
∎ Manage and operate complex medical equipment, such as ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and cardiac monitors, ensuring optimal patient care and equipment functionality.
∎ Provide specialized postoperative care to patients recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries, including monitoring for potential complications such as bleeding, infection, arrhythmias, or respiratory distress.
∎ Prepare the operating room (OR) for orthopedic and laparoscopic surgeries by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterilized, organized, and ready for use.
∎ Assist the surgical team during orthopedic and laparoscopic procedures by anticipating the needs of the surgeon and providing the appropriate instruments and materials.
∎ Adhere to strict infection control protocols, including maintaining sterile technique, proper hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment.
