Sr. Technician: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in gastroenterology & hepatology procedures in a hospital.
Technician: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Certification: Training in Endoscopy Technology / Infection Control preferred.

The Sr. Technician/Technician in the Gastroenterology & Hepatology Department will be responsible for providing technical and clinical support for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The role includes preparation, operation, and maintenance of specialized equipment, assisting consultants and nursing teams during endoscopic and hepatology procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining compliance with hospital protocols and international standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical & Technical Support
Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
Prepare and calibrate endoscopy and hepatology equipment before procedures.
Handle specimen collection, labeling, and proper dispatch to pathology/laboratory.
Maintain infection control and patient safety protocols at all times.
Equipment & Maintenance
Operate, clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopy scopes and related accessories according to established standards.
Report and coordinate preventive/corrective maintenance of instruments with the biomedical team.
Ensure the availability and readiness of all consumables and accessories before procedures.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate records of procedures, equipment use, and sterilization logs.
Adhere to hospital policies and safety protocols.
Support quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Patient Care & Support
Provide pre-procedure guidance and post-procedure assistance to patients.
Ensure patient comfort throughout the care process.
Educate patients and attendants on post-procedure precautions when required.
