Responsibilities & Context:

• Lead and manage the CAD and Sample departments, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of patterns and samples.

• Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs for CAD and Sample processes.

• Ensure sample efficiency by minimizing revisions and achieving first-fit approval consistently.

• Take full ownership of fit accuracy, ensuring all samples and bulk production meet buyer specifications and measurement charts.

• Oversee pattern making, grading, and marker planning for all product categories.

• Optimize marker efficiency and fabric utilization to reduce fabric wastage across all styles.

• Provide instant and accurate consumption calculations during costing.

• Support costing and merchandising teams with technical input to maintain pricing accuracy and minimize material loss.

• Check and confirm final consumption before bulk booking ensuring maximum accuracy.

• Review and approve patterns before sample production and bulk release.

• Implement strategies to maximize fabric utilization, reduce wastage, and ensure cost-effective production.

• Handle shrinkage adjustments, pattern corrections, and size-set approvals.

• Coordinate closely with Merchandising, IE, Cutting, Production, and QA teams to ensure smooth operations and material efficiency.

• Identify process gaps, implement improvements, and ensure compliance with international buyer standards.

• Implement and track individual KPIs/department performance for CAD and Sample team members, including:

  • Sample turnaround time

  • Fit approval success rate

  • Pattern accuracy and revisions

  • Marker efficiency and fabric consumption

  • Adherence to SOPs and timelines

• Use KPI data to identify training needs and implement skill development programs for employees to grow and enhance performance.

• Implement fast fashion product strategies for the Sample team to ensure rapid prototyping, trend responsiveness, and accelerated time-to-market.

• Serve as the primary point of contact with customers for technical clarifications, ensuring timely resolution of all queries and feedback.
