Job Context:
∎ Cowater International Inc. funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) is implementing a five-year Project (2021-2025) in Bangladesh titled "Empowering Women through Professionalization of the Nursing Sector in Bangladesh (ProNurse)". The project works for the betterment of female nurses in Bangladesh through adequate trainings, gender responsive education, improved performance etc, The Project aims to enhance the voice and influence empowerment of nurses in the health sector in Bangladesh.
∎ The Site engineer, reporting to the Project Manager (NTTC) and Civil Engineer, ProNurse Project, will be the key person for on-site supervision of the construction and renovation work. He/she will assist in assessing detailed requirements for construction and repair-renovation work at College of Nursing (CoN), Mohakhali. His/her sole responsibilities will be planning and designing, estimation with BoQs, costs and time schedules, supervision and monitoring quality of work and materials, pre-work/post work survey and provide necessary efforts for satisfactory completion of construction & repairing work.
∎ Workplace: Site Engineer will be based at Dhaka office, but he/she will be positioned 80% at project site in College of Nursing (CoN), Mohakhali, Dhaka.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Construction renovation and extension work:
∎ Civil works:
∎ Assist in conduction of detail engineering assessment of repair-renovation and construction work.
∎ Contribute and assist in CoN renovation components selection and NTTC site finalization.
∎ Prepare/review/update drawing by using AutoCAD and estimates including BoQ for renovation and construction work as necessary.
∎ Contribute to components construction/ renovation works including interior works, layout plan, site preparation, ground levelling of the CoN and NTTC construction.
∎ Assist and confirm sample collection of Lab testing including soil testing and concrete testing as per requirements and standards.
∎ Arrange all repair-renovation and construction work process as per Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) standards.
∎ Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to meet deadlines.
∎ Work closely and efficiently with contractors and site personal professionals regarding construction works.
∎ Ensure smooth functioning in respect of site's work in progress.
∎ Formulate and ensure environmental measures as stated in environmental management plan.
∎ Ensure quality of materials and works through regular visit.
∎ Manage construction debris and wastes in support of CoN.
∎ Ensure safety and security during construction by meeting all compliances.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by Management.
∎ Plumbing works:
∎ Analyze plumbing works drawing/design and provide necessary support to PM-NTTC.
∎ Prepare and update drawings/designs of plumbing components.
∎ Identify the needs/requirements and prepare estimates and BoQs of CoN and NTTC.
∎ Prepare working plan and implement activities as per plan
∎ Ensure quality of materials through regular visit.
∎ Electrical works:
∎ Analyze electrical works drawing/design and provide necessary support to PM-NTTC.
∎ Prepare and update drawings/designs of electrical components.
∎ Identify the needs/requirements and prepare estimates and BoQs of CoN and NTTC.
∎ Prepare working plan and implement activities as per plan.
∎ Ensure quality of materials through regular visit.
∎ Ensure safety and security during implementation of work.
∎ Construction supervision and monitoring:
∎ Supervise and execute construction and renovation work including piling, basement, super structure, sanitary & plumbing works, electrical works and total finishing works of the building as per drawing and other relevant documents.
∎ Supervise and monitor all required compliances during the construction and liability period in support of PM-NTTC.
∎ Regular monitoring and confirm safety & security during site work.
∎ Ensure the quality of materials and workmanship during the site work.
∎ Initiate, assist and ensure to collect sample for testing i.e soil, concrete etc.
∎ Frequent site visits to ensure the quality of construction work.
∎ Conduct pre-work and post work as well as other surveys and assessments of construction and renovation work as and when required.
∎ Track project progress as daily, weekly and monthly basis.
∎ Reporting and documentation:
∎ Assist in existing feasibility study update as necessary.
∎ Prepare drawings and BoQs of NTTC Construction.
∎ Review and update drawings and BoQs of CoN renovation.
∎ Assist and contribute to construction and environmental management plan development.
∎ Prepare and update construction working plan and schedule.
∎ Assist and contribute to different guidelines preparation.
∎ Assist to collect and verify lab tests and frequency of tests of construction materials of collected samples for different tests during repair-renovation and construction work.
∎ Prepare all running and final bills of contractors.
∎ Prepare time sheet as monthly basis.
∎ Prepare report on project progress as daily, weekly and monthly basis.
∎ Meetings/workshop/Training:
∎ Arrange and attend meeting with contractors & site personal to identify the issue to improve the progress & quality for taking better initiative in all respect.
∎ Organize and participate training on health & safety and other related issues as suggested.
∎ Provide on the job training on materials quality and construction procedure for the site personal.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ Must have minimum 07years of practical civil/ electrical working experience with any reputed Company or INGOs in equivalent position.
∎ 03 years working experience in Nursing/Health Institute repair-renovation and construction work will be preferred.
∎ Must have capabilities in computer literacy (MS Office) and able to produce different analytical reports and statements independently in MS Excel, MS Word & Power point.
∎ Experience and sound knowledge in computer-aided design CAD (2D & 3D) is essential.
∎ The applicants should have experience in all types of civil/electrical works and management.
∎ Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills (Bangla and English).
∎ Adaptable and able to work under pressure.
