Educational Requirements:
∎ MPH/Masters in the area of Epidemiology, Environmental Health, and Research; incumbent should be well versed in quantitative and qualitative methods and tools including the use of relevant software for data analysis.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To develop proposals for research projects which increase the knowledge, understanding, and discovery of new explanations, insights, concepts, and processes as 'Principal Investigator' or 'Co-Principal Investigator
∎ To lead qualitative/quantitative research activities and projects including the development of the personal, group, or collaborative objectives, as 'Principal Investigator' or 'Co-Principal Investigator
∎ To develop research protocols, interpret research findings, generate high-quality publications, and disseminate results through appropriate media
∎ To prepare reports and present information to research groups, steering groups, etc. - particularly progress reports, overseeing similar activities of research assistants when appropriate
∎ To identify sources of funding and lead the process of application
∎ To manage research project budgets and other resources
∎ To lead and develop internal and external networks, and collaborative groups, representing the University in a professional manner at all times, including links with professional bodies, research funding streams, etc.
∎ To mentor junior researchers, workshops and training on qualitative/quantitative research methods
∎ To supervise MPH students for the summative learning project, if required to teach relevant courses in MPH
∎ To develop and offer short courses on qualitative/quantitative methods/environmental science.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience.
∎ Should have skills in writing reports (in English) independently under minimum supervision; 3 publications (at least 2 publications as 1st/ 2nd author in peer-reviewed Journal is essential.)
∎ Candidate having teaching experience would be preferred.
