The aim is to enable public health leaders, practitioners, critical thinkers, researchers, advocates, and stewards in order to enable concrete changes to improve the lives of disadvantaged populations locally, regionally and internationally.
∎ We are looking for a Senior Research Fellow for the School.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Areas to be covered: SRHR, Health systems, Refugee camps, community health, informal sectors and drug shops social science aspects of abortion and community behavior and practices and
∎ Be responsible for providing overall supervision and leadership support to research team in different research activities (e.g. review literature, research methods and data collection tools, recruit Research Associates, supervise Research Associates in qualitative and quantitative data collection process).
∎ Be responsible for research data archiving and ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines.
∎ Resolve any ethical or unanticipated issues developed in the field.
∎ Report to the supervisor regularly on the research progress.
∎ Take actions if any violation to protocol is noticed in order to ensure data quality and research integrity.
∎ Carry out advanced quantitative analysis and/or qualitative analysis (e.g. codebook preparation, coding)
∎ Present findings of the research in large forums and attend national and international conferences to discuss the research findings.
∎ Plan & organize events related to research projects.
∎ Write and review manuscripts, ethical review applications, course material etc.
∎ Develop proposal, individually or in a team.
∎ Provide any other leadership and conceptual support related to the research project.
Additional Requirements:
∎ MBBS/Masters in Statistics/Epidemiology + MPH (preferably full-time course); incumbent should be well versed in quantitative and qualitative methods and tools including use of relevant software for data analysis.
∎ Candidates should have minimum 5 years of experience in quantitative research methods and use of relevant tools for analysis of data, but should also have understandings of qualitative methods and data analysis; organize, coordinate and conduct field work, use of community engagement/ vulnerability assessment tools; work in disaster/refugee situations (e.g., Rohingya refugees); experience in interacting with high level policy makers and practitioners in public and private sectors, and organizing dissemination events, e.g., policy dialogue, dissemination seminar, stakeholder workshop, TV talk shows etc.
∎ Should have skills in writing reports (in English) independently under minimum supervision; 3 publications as 1st/ 2nd/3rd author in peer reviewed Journal is essential
