Source Associate Ltd. a fast-growing engineering firm of Bangladesh is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Executive/Assistant Manager in Design & Creative with 3 – 7 years of professional experience to join our developing organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all the fire protection and detection related design and solutions, supporting project planning, and handling factory audit to ensure compliance and smooth business transactions. This role is crucial for maintaining project lifeline and supporting organizational growth in a dynamic business environment.

Design Oversight & Technical

•      Lead and review the design of fire protection systems including automatic sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, hydrant and hose reel systems, gaseous/clean agent suppression, foam systems, and smoke control/management systems.

•      Independently perform and verify advanced hydraulic calculations and system sizing in accordance with NFPA 13, 14, 72, 750, 2001, and BNBC 2020.

•      Develop and approve design basis reports (DBR), fire protection plans (FPP), risk assessments, and fire safety concept statements.

•      Ensure all deliverables meet applicable codes including BNBC 2020, NFPA standards, Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Act (Bangladesh), and relevant client/authority requirements.

•      Review and approve shop drawings, as-built drawings, material submittals, and BOQs prepared by the team.

•      Provide technical direction on complex or non-standard fire engineering challenges across project types.

•     Prepare fire protection system design drawings using AutoCAD, including sprinkler layouts, fire alarm plans, hydrant and hose reel systems, gaseous suppression, and smoke control systems.

•     Perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler and suppression systems as per NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 72, and BNBC requirements.

•     Assist in the preparation of design basis reports (DBR), Fire Protection Plans (FPP), and equipment schedules.

•     Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP teams to integrate fire systems into overall building designs.

•     Prepare material take-offs (BOQ/BOM) and assist in cost estimation for fire engineering works.

Project Management & Coordination

•      Manage design delivery schedules for multiple projects, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within budget.

•      Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, and contractors for integrated systems design.

•      Attend client meetings, authority approval meetings, and design review workshops; represent the fire engineering team.

•      Liaise with the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense (BFSCD) and other regulatory authorities for plan approval and NOC processes.

•      Oversee the preparation and submission of fire plan approval documents to relevant authorities.

Team Management & Development

•      Supervise, guide, and mentor Senior Executives, Executives, and Junior Engineers within the fire engineering team.

•      Assign tasks, review workloads, and ensure equitable distribution of responsibilities within the team.

•      Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs for team members.

•      Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and professional growth within the team.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

•      Implement and maintain quality assurance (QA) processes for design documentation and drawing production.

•      Conduct internal design reviews and technical audits to ensure consistency and accuracy.

•      Ensure compliance with company standards, ISO procedures (if applicable), and client QA/QC requirements.

•      Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes to BNBC, NFPA, and international fire safety standards.

Business Development Support

•      Support preparation of technical proposals, expressions of interest (EOI), and tender submissions.

•      Prepare conceptual fire system designs and cost estimates for pre-tender and bidding purposes.

•      Assist senior management in client presentations, project scoping, and technical negotiations.

•      Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.

Documentation & Compliance

•     Prepare tender drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings as required.

•     Ensure all designs comply with BNBC 2020, NFPA codes, Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Act (Bangladesh), and client-specific requirements.

•     Maintain proper filing and version control of all design documents and correspondence.

•     Support preparation of technical submittals, method statements, and material approval requests (MAR).

Coordination & Site Support

•     Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors on technical queries related to fire systems.

•     Provide design support and clarifications during project execution and site visits as required.

•     Participate in design review meetings, client presentations, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
