Job Context:
∎ Contract period: until 30th June 2020 (with the possibility of extension subject to performance)
∎ Line Manager: Team Leader - Self Reliance
∎ Liaison with: Site Improvement Officer, Site Supervisor, Self-Reliance facilitator and DCA other team members of GBV and Education of Rohingya Refugee Program
∎ Staff Manager: N/A

∎ DCA (DanChurchAid) is a Danish humanitarian, non-government and non-profit organization. DCA has been working in Bangladesh since the 1970s, both through partners and self-implementing. DCA has an office in Cox`s Bazar. We work for the poor, vulnerable and socially excluded community people.
∎ POSITION SUMMARY:
∎ The Self Reliance Facilitator will select and finalize the beneficiaries list of livelihoods, CFW and social cohesion interventions and conduct different sessions for adolescent girls and women where they will learn self-reliance, life skills, vocational training and livelihoods skills development. Additionally, the facilitator will support girls and women with lessons covering basic business skills, marketing, etc.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Implementation
∎ Select and finalize the beneficiaries list of livelihoods, CFW and social cohesion interventions.
∎ Facilitate and lead skill development sessions
∎ Design and prepare lesson plans/sessions covering the technical training as well as the business skills.
∎ Support Market assessments to identify self-reliance useful skills and vocational training in Host and Camps
∎ Identification and selection of beneficiaries
∎ Support to prepare/adapt curriculum for self-reliance trainings
∎ Assist in undertaking assessments, including Participatory Vulnerability and Capacity Assessments (PVCA) to develop risk management plans
∎ Support Cash for Work (CFW) activities in camp/village level.
∎ Provide work progress updates as per need.
∎ Conduct social cohesion activities to ensure positive interaction between host & Rohingya communities.
∎ Ensure the outputs of livelihood grant support under business plan development, the project plan is executed, and the target producers are in track according to their business plan developed.
∎ Executing of the business development activities effectively and timely at your working area and support business and cooperative development of women producers.
∎ Support to procure training material for self-reliance
∎ Conduct household level awareness raising for supporting women in their businesses (target senior household members)
∎ Establishment of direct business support mechanism for women from HC
∎ Conduct regular assessments on selected participants.
∎ Closely cooperate with colleagues from the GBV and education team and stay abreast of the latest developments of the local market.
∎ Ensure that activities are conducted in agreement with operational guidelines and are culturally appropriate.
∎ Provide the attendees with information regarding the available services in the camps.
∎ Track and report on attendance of the different activities.
∎ Need assessment in Camps and Host Community
∎ Support to cash for work payment
∎ Support team leader for developing modules and curriculum on self-reliance activities
∎ Always adhere to DCA's Code of Conduct and humanitarian standards.
∎ 2. Financial management
∎ Request adequate advance to cover project costs with a prior approval from Programme Manager.
∎ Prepare payment sheets for volunteers and other skills labour
∎ Ensure that all workers are paid in a timely manner.
∎ 3. Monitoring
∎ Supervise the quality of all workers' output.
∎ Undertake rigorous and regular monitoring to ensure a high-quality programme.
∎ Collect data for post distribution monitoring (PDM).
∎ Performs spot checks of works.
∎ Ensure all workers operate according to DCA's Code of Conduct.
∎ Check the quality of materials supplied by vendors.
∎ 4. Coordination:
∎ Support the emergency response team if any disaster occurs.
∎ Support to implement the innovative business of youths and women identifying the scope of market and enterprise development
∎ Assist relevant stakeholders with the provision of programme-related documents as per coordination with Programme Manager.
∎ Closely cooperate with colleagues from the GBV and education team and stay abreast of the latest developments of the local market.
∎ Pro-actively contribute DCA's organisational mandate and human rights agenda.
∎ Ensuring maintenance of effective coordination and communication with Union Parishad Chairman, Local Government Institute, CiC, clusters, sector's, line departments and other stake holders in advance by sharing detail plan.
∎ Ensuring reports are prepared within timeline and submitted
∎ Internal and external best practice and lesson learning on projects activities are documented and used in on-going procedures.
∎ Enabling a friendly collaborative working culture within the team, actively sharing information and knowledge to enable the team to ensure effective learning and sharing across the organization;

Additional Requirements:
∎ 2 years relevant working experience on self-reliance activities, vocational training and livelihoods
∎ Advance training on tailoring, sewing, handicraft, block batik and beauty parlour will get preference
∎ Sound understanding of the situation in local context, especially host and Rohingya community.
∎ Ability to Organize and facilitate training, workshop, campaign & outreach activities for the staffs and different target people
∎ Experience in undertaking assessments in livelihoods and self-reliance.
∎ Have knowledge on GBV and related issues
∎ Understanding of setting up a business.
∎ Proficiency in Chittagonian dialect required; Proficiency of English and Burmese language desirable
∎ Experience in conducting sessions, ideally skills training for adolescent girls and women
∎ Experience and/or knowledge in keeping participants engaged using interactive communication and teaching approaches
∎ Have a good understanding of situation of Rohingya population and issues female population faces.
∎ Good team working and organizational skills
