Responsibilities & Context:
  • The incumbent will be responsible for the Policy, Regulatory Affairs & Operational Management issues of BSIA Secretariat and closely work with the President and Board of Directors.

  • Give direction and leadership towards the achievement of the mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives of the Association.

  • Recommend yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manage resources within the budget guidelines.

  • To maintain regular contacts and build strong relationships with the key stakeholders, regulators, development agencies, policy advocacy groups, consumer advocates and relevant ministries/government agencies.  The person should also be responsible for coordinating with member organizations of BSIA and other business Chambers and Associations.

  • Organizing meetings and coordinate with respective sectors of the BSIA Membership.

  • Assures that the programs and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.

  • Maintain the legal integrity of the Association and perform statutory and compliance duties.

  • Responsible for representing the organization in regulatory proceedings, consultation meetings, legislative hearings, conferences, and other external meetings.

  • Responsible for internal and external communication. Supervise the team for BSIA Website and social media and membership management. Coordinate with member companies in respective sectors. Coordinate and support BSIA newsletter & publication.

  • Assist the Board in setting short- and long-term goals and annual activity calendar for the Association and execute all decisions of the board meetings.

  • Provide administrative support to the Board and interface between Board and employees.

  • Obtain maximum utilization of staff by clearly defining their duties, establishing performance standards, conducting performance reviews and evaluating results.

  • Identify critical issues that may impact the Association and its members.

  • Work closely with the President and the designated committees of the organization to develop industry-related policies and strategies according to current worldwide regulations and guidelines; if required, negotiate with policy & regulatory authorities during the development and review process to ensure submission approval.

  • Responsible for review/development of Article of Association, if necessary.
