• Age 18 to 30 years

 Master's degree in Biochemistry/Microbiology/Biotechnology from a recognized

university.

 No third class at any level.

 Experience in using sophisticated analytical equipment for biochemical/ microbiological

research.

 Candidates may be asked to appear for technical written/practical exams and oral

interviews. Preference may be given to those who demonstrate superior academic

records, high scores on IUB exams, prior experience working with students/faculty in a

teaching/ learning environment.

 Age must be less than 30 years at the time of appointment.

i.            Assist the faculty members in in conducting Laboratory classes

ii.            Ensure safe handling and operation of equipment by research students

iii.            Ensure routine day to day maintenance of Laboratory  equipment and apparatus

iv.            Supervise senior project students in basic laboratory maintenance, such as cleaning of apparatus, media preparation, etc.

v.            Be responsible for the overall management of the laboratory along with ensuring a safe and cooperative environment for all faculty and students.

vi.            Ensure the laboratory is kept clean and organized by the students, SoDs and the lab assistant. Report any complaints or misconduct to the lab in-charge (Lab Manager/Research & Development Officer).

vii.            Keep the relevant laboratory records and inventories updated, such as chemical inventory, equipment list, MSDS, PSDS, etc.

viii.            Maintain security and protect the laboratory from any unwanted incidents. Do not allow any individual to take anything from the laboratory without prior permission and notify the Dean/ Head of The School of Life Sciences in case of any serious incidents/ accidents/ emergency/ unsafe practices.

ix.            Immediately notify the IUB authority in case of any emergency and/or serious accident.

x.            Report directly to and carry out such other responsibilities as may be assigned to you from time to time by the Dean/ Head of the Department.
