Pre-Production Responsibilities
Fabric and Trim Inspection: Inspect incoming woven fabrics for defects, color shading, GSM, and hand feel using standards like the 4-point system. Check accessories like labels, buttons, and zippers.
Pre-Production (PP) Meetings: Attend PP meetings with production and merchandising teams to review buyer requirements, technical specs, and potential quality issues.
Pattern and Sample Approval: Verify pre-production samples and check patterns before cutting approval.
In-Line Production Responsibilities
Cutting Floor Check: Ensure no faulty woven fabric is sent for cutting and that marker and cutting accuracy meet specifications.
Sewing Line Monitoring: Conduct random and regular in-line inspections on sewing floors to check stitching quality, seam security, SPI (stitches per inch), and measurements.
Defect Identification: Spot sewing and construction defects (such as skipped stitches, puckering, raw edges, or uneven hems) and guide operators to fix them immediately.
Finishing and Packing Responsibilities
Measurement Audit: Check finished woven garments against the tech pack and size spec charts.
Finishing and Pressing Checks: Oversee thread trimming, pressing, tagging, and overall aesthetic appeal.
Final Inspection and AQL: Perform pre-final and final random inspections based on Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) standards before packing and shipping.
Reporting: Maintain inspection logs, record defect percentages, and report daily quality statuses to the quality in-charge or merchandisers.
