Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and highly attentive Caregiver for a 12-hour day shift to provide dedicated bedside care for an elderly, bedridden patient. The ideal candidate will focus on maintaining the patient's hygiene, comfort, and nutritional needs entirely within a bed-rest setting. Two free meals are provided daily during the shift, and free housing accommodations are available on-site if the candidate is interested.

Job Details

• Job Context: Full-time, Home-based Care

• Shift: 12-Hour Day Shift (e.g., 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM)

• Workplace: On-site (Residential)

• Benefits: 2 Duty Meal provided per day + Optional Free Housing/Accommodation included.

Key Responsibilities

• Bedside Hygiene & Comfort: Perform complete bed baths, hair washing, grooming, dressing, and oral care while the patient remains in bed.

• Incontinence Care: Manage diaper changes regularly, keep the patient clean and dry, and maintain strict hygiene to prevent skin breakdown.

• Pressure Sore Prevention: Safely turn and reposition the patient in bed at scheduled intervals to prevent bedsores, ensuring proper use of pillows and support blocks.

• Medication Administration: Administer prescribed oral medications on time, monitor fluid intake, and track daily health vitals (blood pressure, temperature, sugar levels).

• Meal Preparation & Feeding: Prepare soft, nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and carefully feed the patient in bed, ensuring proper head elevation to prevent choking.

• Bed Linen Management: Change bedsheets, pillowcases, and patient clothing frequently to maintain a sterile, fresh, and comfortable environment.

• Companionship & Cognitive Engagement: Talk to the patient, read, or play calming music to provide emotional support and reduce isolation.

• Alert Monitoring: Closely monitor the patient's skin condition, breathing, and mental status, reporting any immediate changes to family members or doctors.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience caring for bedridden or paralyzed elderly patients (home care or hospital setup).

• Skills: Expertise in bed bathing, diaper changing, and safe bed-repositioning techniques.

• Attributes: High level of patience, physical stamina for bedside lifting/turning, and strong emotional empathy.

• Education: Minimum SSC pass; formal caregiving, nursing assistant, or Palliative care training is highly preferred.

• Language: Fluent in Bengali to effectively communicate with the patient and family.
