Educational Requirements:
∎ Essential degree or diploma in Psychology.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Carrying out evaluation of mental health needs of patients and establishing a diagnosis and a plan of treatment. Informing the patient and his/her relatives about the possible consequences of the illness and the drug treatment to follow and referring patients to other health professionals whenever necessary, in order to provide the most appropriate treatment and improve the patient's condition.
∎ Implementing the Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identifying possible victims of SGBV and referring them to the medical team so that they receive the necessary treatment.
∎ Providing psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, family, group) to patients according to MSF protocols in order to improve their mental health conditions.
∎ Assisting and training staff members and resourceful people whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of MH activities. Working in close collaboration with translators in order to ensure appropriate terminology and behavior during sessions.
∎ Collecting statistical and monitoring data about mental health activities.
∎ Informing the supervisor and the medical team about any issues or problems that may arise related to patients’ treatment in order to provide the best possible solution from a medical perspective.
∎ Ensuring that all patient information is kept confidential.
∎ Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
∎ To support the Counselor Educator in terms of his/her clinical performance: inter-relational and symptom screening abilities, identification of main complaints/difficulties and development of an adequate treatment plan which could include counseling provision, social intervention or referral. Support can include, if needed, shared consultations.
∎ MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:
∎ To support Community Health Workers (CHWs, Rohingya Volunteers) to communicate with people, screen symptoms, recognize patients and refer adequately. To communicate to the MH Supervisor or MHAM any break in their work ethics or clinical needs in terms of training, supplies or other.
∎ To ensure psychological care both of patients in OPDs, IPD, Maternity and ER when needed.
∎ Close collaboration with SGBV and SRH teams in terms of psychological handling of cases of SGBV and appropriate referrals of women in perinatal period with depression and anxiety.
∎ In the absence of a PST (expat or national), and in collaboration with MH Supervisor or MHAM, to ask the OPD doctor for psychotropic prescription, if waiting for a PST assessment seems to involve relevant risk to the patient and other people.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Essential 2 years’ experience minimum as a Psychologist.
∎ Desirable previous experience with MSF or other NGO’s in developing countries.
∎ Mission language essential. Local language desirable.
∎ Desirable computer literacy (word, excel and internet).

Salary:
∎ Tk. 70056 (Monthly)
∎ Salary according to level seven (07) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 70056 Gross).

∎ 4 Months contract to cover gap of maternity leave.
