Core technical skills:
Repair and replacement of old pipes (GI, PVC, CPVC), valves, and joints.
Fixing leaks, bursts, and corrosion in water supply & drainage lines.
Unclogging sanitary/drainage systems (toilets, kitchen sinks, floor drains).
Maintenance of overhead tanks, underground reservoirs, pumps, and septic systems (very common in older areas).
Converting/upgrading old systems to modern ones during renovation.
Basic knowledge of building drawings and measurements.
Handling emergencies (night calls for leaks or blockages in occupied flats).
Other requirements:
Physical fitness for working in cramped, dirty, or elevated spaces (rooftops, basements).
Ability to work under pressure, long hours, and respond quickly to resident complaints.
Good communication in Bengali; knowledge of local building issues helps.
