Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Leading and supervising the operating theatre nursing staff.
∎ Delegating tasks and ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
∎ Providing guidance, support, and feedback to the nursing team.
∎ Participating in staff development, performance evaluations, and counseling.
∎ Assessing patient needs and developing individualized care plans.
∎ Ensuring patient safety and well-being throughout the surgical process.
∎ Coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
∎ Overseeing patient transportation and positioning.
∎ Preparing and maintaining the operating theatre, including ensuring a sterile field.
∎ Managing equipment and supplies, including inventory and maintenance.
∎ Adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
∎ Managing hazardous waste and ensuring proper disposal.
∎ Monitoring and reporting on patient activity and statistics.
∎ Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
∎ Participating in quality management activities and audits.
∎ Maintaining a safe, healthy, and secure working environment.
∎ Participating in the orientation and training of new staff.
∎ Providing guidance and support to junior nurses.
∎ Keeping up-to-date with professional development and best practices.
