Responsibilities & Context:
∎ BiPAP Machine Management – Setting up, calibrating, and troubleshooting BiPAP devices for patients with respiratory issues.
∎ Airway Monitoring – Observing breathing patterns, oxygen levels, and signs of respiratory distress.
∎ Mask Fitting and Maintenance – Ensuring the BiPAP mask fits properly to prevent air leaks and discomfort.
∎ Patient Education – Teaching patients and families how to use and maintain the BiPAP machine safely.
∎ Emergency Response – Managing BiPAP-related complications like air leaks, power failures, or respiratory distress.
∎ Lung Health Monitoring – Checking for signs of infection, congestion, or worsening respiratory conditions.
∎ Coordination with Respiratory Therapists – Working closely with doctors and specialists to adjust BiPAP settings as needed.B. General
∎ Medication Management – Administering medications, including inhalers or nebulizers, as prescribed.
∎ Wound Care – Dressing wounds, especially for bedbound patients with pressure ulcers.
∎ Vital Signs Monitoring – Checking blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and temperature.
∎ Personal Care Assistance – Helping with hygiene, feeding, mobility, and daily activities.
∎ Family Training – Teaching families how to respond to emergencies and maintain the BiPAP machine properly.
∎ Emotional Support – Assisting patients in adapting to long-term BiPAP use and reducing anxiety related to breathing issues.
∎ Record Keeping – Maintaining detailed logs of BiPAP usage, symptoms, and overall patient progress
