Other relevant degrees or certificates will be considered an advantage such as; Diploma in Midwifery with certificate from Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Job Summary
The midwife is a position in the PRAGATI, based at Ramjannagar Union under Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira district. A dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional is required for providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care, the Midwife offers essential support to women during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. The role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care and advice while maintaining a strong focus on maternal and neonatal health, family planning, and community well-being.
Key responsibilities include (not limited to):
Give the necessary supervision, care, and advice to women during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period.
Provide full antenatal care, including screening tests in the hospital, community, and the home.
Provide counseling and advice before and after screening and tests.
Conduct deliveries on her own and care for the newborn infant.
Manage complications in pregnancy and childbirth, by the principles of basic emergency obstetric care.
After delivery motivation/counseling/demonstration on breast feeding and newborn care, FP and personnel hygiene.
Identify high-risk pregnancies and making referrals to specialized govt./field hospital, doctors and other medical specialists.
Provide support and advice following events such as miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality, and neonatal death.
Supervise the provision of primary health care within the community by female health workers.
Give support and advice on the daily care of the baby, including breastfeeding, bathing, and making up feeds.
Provide all non-surgical methods of family planning, and counseling for surgical methods.
Follow established health center policies, procedures, and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiatives; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards.
Ensure cleanliness; keep instruments and equipment serviceable and usable condition.
Maintain registers/ records of HFs.
Duly fill-up the partograph, referral form (during referral) and consent form to communicate the actual condition of the patient with the referred facility.
Any other responsibilities given by the Authority.
