About Astha Care
Astha Care is an initiative powered by Swisscontact and Carnival Care Ltd. to establish standard primary healthcare facilities in rural Bangladesh particularly for underserved communities with limited access to quality medical services.
Astha Care aims to make healthcare affordable, accurate and accessible through qualified medical consultation, reliable diagnostic services, quality medicines and an effective referral system connecting patients with secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Examine patients, assess symptoms, take medical histories and provide appropriate primary healthcare.
Issue accurate digital prescriptions including diagnoses, medicines, dosages, investigations and follow-up instructions.
Prescribe appropriate laboratory tests and other investigations based on clinical indications.
Review diagnostic reports, correlate findings with clinical conditions and determine appropriate treatment or further investigations.
Arrange teleconsultations with specialists and share relevant medical histories, prescriptions and investigation reports through approved channels.
Conduct additional examinations as advised by specialists and coordinate the implementation of their recommendations.
Refer patients to appropriate secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities for specialized treatment, advanced investigations or emergency care.
Supervise laboratory staff to ensure proper sample collection, handling, testing, documentation and timely reporting.
Monitor diagnostic quality control, address discrepancies and arrange repeat testing or referral when necessary.
Recognize emergencies and provide initial assessment and stabilization and arrange timely referral or transfer when required.
Ensure safe and appropriate prescribing in accordance with clinical guidelines and promote medication adherence.
Advise patients on treatment adherence, nutrition, hygiene, lifestyle modification, disease prevention and follow-up care.
Maintain accurate and complete digital records of consultations, diagnoses, prescriptions, investigations, referrals and follow-ups.
Participate in community awareness programmes arranged by Astha Care on disease prevention, maternal and child health and other relevant public health issues.
Coordinate with laboratory personnel, pharmacy staff, centre management and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
Monitor service quality, patient flow, referral patterns and diagnostic turnaround times and report relevant concerns to the designated authority.
Maintain patient confidentiality, obtain informed consent where required and comply with medical ethics, professional standards and applicable regulations.
Educational Qualifications and Experience
MBBS degree from a recognized medical college or institution.
Valid registration with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
Previous clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, primary healthcare facility or similar setting will be an advantage.
Experience using digital prescription systems, electronic medical records or telemedicine platforms will be preferred.
Required Competencies

Knowledge of rational prescribing, diagnostic interpretation and referral procedures.

Duty Hour: 10 am-8 pm
Salary: Negotiable
