Job Responsibilities:
∎ Create and manage work schedules to ensure adequate coverage for surgeries.
∎ Coordinate and allocate resources such as surgical instruments, medical supplies and equipment for each surgical procedure.
∎ Ensure that the operation theatre is adequately stocked and equipped.
∎ Work closely with medical staff to schedule surgeries, taking into account surgeon availability and patient needs.
∎ Manage the surgical schedule to optimize the utilization of operation theatre facilities.
∎ Implement and enforce strict infection control protocols to minimize the risk of surgical site infections.
∎ Monitor the cleanliness and sterility of the operation theatre environment.
∎ Ensure that all surgical equipment and instruments are properly maintained and in working order.
∎ Foster effective communication and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to ensure smooth surgical procedures.
∎ Maintain accurate records of surgeries, patient information, and equipment maintenance.
∎ Prepare reports on operation theatre activities for hospital administration.
∎ Provide support and information to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures, pre-operative preparations, and post-operative care.
