Manager - Import

Lead and manage the complete import process, from supplier selection and purchase orders to customs clearance and final delivery.

Ensure thorough compliance with Bangladesh`s import policies, customs regulations, foreign exchange regulations, and other applicable legal requirements.

Maintain strong practical knowledge of IRC, HS Codes, customs duties, VAT, supplementary duties, import permits, and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Handle import documentation, including Proforma Invoice, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Air Waybill, Certificate of Origin, Letter of Credit (LC), and other required documents.

Coordinate with banks, C&F agents, freight forwarders, shipping companies, customs authorities, and relevant government agencies.

Ensure compliance with product-specific regulatory requirements, including those applicable to food, electronics, and technology products.

Monitor import costs, shipment schedules, clearance procedures, and delivery timelines to ensure efficient operations.

Develop short-term and long-term import business strategies aligned with the company`s growth objectives.

Prepare detailed landed-cost calculations, pricing models, profitability analyses, and return-on-investment assessments.

Recommend suitable products and import quantities based on demand forecasts, capital requirements, and expected financial returns.

Identify opportunities to minimize sourcing, logistics, customs, and operational costs.

Monitor product performance and recommend improvements in product selection, pricing, and inventory planning.

Build, lead, and supervise the import, sourcing, and business development team.

Establish operational procedures, reporting systems, performance standards, and internal controls.

Assign responsibilities, monitor team performance, and ensure timely achievement of business objectives.

Guide team members on import documentation, international trade practices, supplier management, and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, and logistics teams to ensure smooth business operations.
