Compliance & Regulations:
Safety Protocols: Implement and maintain fire safety plans conforming to Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC), NFPA standards, and FSCD (Fire Service and Civil Defense) requirements.
Knowledge: Should have a vast knowledge of fire safety management, protection, RSC (Accord) & Alliance (Nirapon) requirements to ensure fire safety in the garments and others manufacturing industry.
Audits and External Affairs: To be handled RSC (Accord), Alliance (Nirapon) and general fire safety, detection & protection System as required according to buyer, Bangladesh Labor laws and international alliances.
Floor Safety: Ensure safety compliance with company policies and industry regulations and conduct routine checks on aisle markings, emergency exits, and chemical storage areas.
Fire Safety Management : Must be well familiar to set up and following up firefighting equipment as per buyer and government requirements and Fire Prevention Act.
Equipment & Team Maintenance:
Active Systems: Monitor the maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems (alarms, sprinklers, hydrants, and fire pumps). And ensure that all are working properly.
Set up: Set an in-house strong firefighting and rescue team in all the departments.
Daily Activities: Daily walk round/ floor visit & ensure firefighting equipment and follow up the daily checklist activities of the firefighting team.
Extinguisher Management: Ensure all portable fire extinguishers are inspected, serviced, and properly tagged.
Training & Drills:
Evacuation Drills: Plan and execute monthly emergency evacuation drills for all floor workers and administrative staff.
Training program: Conduct firefighting training from Fire Service & Civil Defense authority at least once a year and get the certificate from them.
Capacity Building: Train the in-house firefighting and rescue teams on handling emergency equipment and first aid.
Risk Management & Reporting:
Risk Assessments: Identify potential hazards, especially in high-risk areas like generators, boilers, and fabric storage.
Safety & Security: Develop and update all the safety & security system to maintain a safe work environment in the factory.
Incident Reports: Prepare detailed corrective action plans and report directly to compliance management.
Any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
