Educational Requirements:
∎ Minimum Graduate, Masters is preferred from any reputed University.
Experience Requirements:
∎ 12 to 15 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Manager, Customs Clearance & Port Operations is expected to perform all duties correctly, cost-efficiently and in compliance with Company standards.
∎ Must be well versed in Customs Act & Rules and Procedure including SRO, Duty structure, VAT, AIT, H.S. Code, Import & Export Policy, Global Tax etc.
∎ Classify import items and notify Customs to determine appropriate import duties.
∎ Guide team members in the area of Customs regulations, classification , valuation,
∎ Deal with customs and port concern authority.
∎ Should have thorough understandings on required documents and process for customs clearance.
∎ Initiate and verify submission of IGM, EGM, Customs Noting, BOE, Shipping Documents etc.
∎ Understand and guide the team in case of any problems arise in customs related issue.
∎ Have thorough knowledge on Port charges, Shipping Agent charges, Customs Assessable value, Duty structure, shipment against L/C, shipment against contract etc.
∎ Prepare regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
∎ Should have good contact with customers in local market and initiate sales drive.
∎ Communicate and Co-ordinate with clients, coworkers, supervisors, customs concern for smooth function of customs clearance and port operations.
∎ Should identify transactions and tasks that require special handling, recommend improved processes to management, and implement resolutions within assigned scope of responsibility.
∎ Follow to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, such as the Code of Conduct, assigned work schedules, and attendance requirements.
∎ Should have good relationships with off-docs/CFSs and C&F Agent Assocaition.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in Customs Clearance is a must, and experience in Freight Forwarding & Domestic Transport industry are preferred.
∎ Customs Sarkar License- MANDATORY
∎ Must have adequate knowledge on Customs Regulations, Customs clearance process, Classification and Valuation. Rules.
∎ Proficient in verbal and written communication in English.
∎ Should have problem-solving and analytical skills.
∎ Ready to work under pressure.
∎ Should be pro-active and self-motivated.
∎ Need to have leadership capacity for managing the team.
∎ Must be honestwith high integrity.
∎ Should have advanced knowledge in Microsoft office (Excel, Power point, words etc)
