Education:
∎ Diploma in Medical Technology (lab) under State running Medical Faculty of Bangladesh or from any Government approved organization.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 01 years of experience in a pathological laboratory in a healthcare facility.
∎ Previous experience in working in the Char and Islands areas and knowledge of local languages will be a definite advantage.
∎ She/he should stay at the Upazila level.
∎ Should have the capability of interpersonal communication skills.
∎ The working station will be at Ukhiya.
∎ Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
∎ Ability to prepare and process laboratory samples using established protocols.
∎ Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.
∎ Records maintenance skills.
∎ Ability to perform a range of clinical laboratory tests and chemical analyses on biological samples.
∎ Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
∎ Ability to draw intravenous and peripheral blood.
∎ Knowledge of laboratory and experimental protocols and procedures.
∎ Knowledge of tissue culture procedures and techniques.
∎ Ability to utilize, calibrate, configure, and/or troubleshoot laboratory testing systems and instruments.
∎ Ability to isolate and identify specimens using advanced laboratory techniques and equipment.
∎ Knowledge of sterile procedures.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Ensure care & maintenance of all the lab instruments & equipment.
∎ Carrying out day-to-day regular & emergency lab procedures.
∎ Ensure availability of all related reagents & logistics of the Laboratory, ensure proper storage and usage of equipment & consumables.
∎ Review stock & initiate requisition for laboratory activities.
∎ Documentation of all lab activities.
∎ Keep service records and prepare monthly report
∎ Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
∎ Attend all training and ensure knowledge dissemination to assistant
∎ Ensuring collection, processing, and handling of all biological specimens according to IPCD.
∎ Counsel the patients on the sample collection process.
∎ Conducts blood tests for transfusion purposes; may draw blood from patient's finger, ear lobe, or vein observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.
∎ Conducting and supporting scientific investigations and experiments.
∎ Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests in the areas of hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis, as assigned; conducts quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid; performs blood counts using microscope.
∎ Develops and maintains cell/tissue cultures for testing purposes, as appropriate; isolates and identifies specimens, using advanced laboratory techniques.
∎ Performs quality control on test results, ensuring validity and accuracy.
∎ Performs calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.
∎ Keeps records and reports on results according to established procedures.
∎ Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
∎ Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
∎ Planning, setting up, and undertaking controlled experiments and trials
∎ Recording and analyzing data.
∎ Demonstrating procedures
∎ Collecting, preparing, and/or testing samples.
∎ Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning, and testing the sterility of the equipment
∎ Providing technical support
∎ Presenting results to senior staff
∎ Writing reports, reviews, and summaries
∎ Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments.
∎ Supervising staff
∎ Carrying out risk assessments
∎ Ordering and maintaining stock and resources
