Job Context:
The positions are being recruited under Community Services to serve at Branch Hospitals (BHs) located at Barishal, Jamalpur, Naogaon, Kulaura, Amtoli, Narayanganj and its respective Primary Level Eyecare Center (PLECs). The position holders will work as a key player in serving patients in their respective working area. They will be providing required hand-on training to provide quality comprehensive eye care services.
Requirements:
Diploma in Ophthalmic Techniques (DOT)/ Equivalent course after HSC (Science)/Bachelor in Optometry for Junior Optometrist.
Mid-Level Ophthalmic Personnel (MLOP) completed for Assistant Ophthalmic Technician.
Relevant working experience in Eye Hospital/ clinic.
Demonstrates a personal interest in the health and well-being of others.
Has good physical strength and stamina with serving attitude.
Excellent Communication skill with positive gesture.
Willingness to work at community level and extensive travel.
Major Responsibilities:
Work-up of patients including respective tests and prepare the patients for doctors’ consultation.
Medication Administration: Administering eye drops, dilating drops, topical anesthetic drops and other topical medications as directed by the ophthalmologist.
Procedure Assistance: Assisting the ophthalmologist during procedures, such as surgery or laser treatments.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining and cleaning ophthalmic equipment.
Patient Education: Educating patients on eye care practices, including using eye drops and protecting eyes from damage.
Record Keeping: Maintaining patient records, including test results and medical history.
Aid to doctors and handle OPD patients.
Oversee patient screening camps and other community activities at the grass root level.
Perform any other tasks as and when assigned by the authority.
