Job Context: To supervise, plan, and coordinate the activities of stretcher bearers and patient navigators, ensuring appropriate support to the nursing team and quality patient care. This role ensures that patient movement, accompaniment, and general assistance follow MSF standards related to safety, IPC, patient dignity, and respectful care.
Job Responsibilities:
Carry out the functions and tasks associated to supervision of stretcher bearers and patient’s navigator to support the nursing team, whenever required or needed, to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience.
Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, monthly roster, annual leave, absences, work-station allocation etc.)
Evaluate their performance and define the needs for training, to ensure the coverage of the human resources needs and maintain high standards of quality.
Ensure all needed items for the patient’s navigators and stretcher bearer to work efficiently and effectively (such as stretcher, wheelchair, etc.) are made available in good working condition.
Collaborate with appropriate profiles to ensure that all the team members Understand and apply universal hygiene standards and precautions, infection prevention and control, and security rules in the workplace daily.
Ensure that all the team member are able to Identify victims of sexually gender-based violence and referring them to the medical team and SRH department so that they can receive the necessary treatment.
Ensure that patients are properly welcomed and advocated for, and that those who lack autonomy are assisted, particularly with feeding, personal hygiene, movement, and comfort by the team.
Foster a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and respectful behaviour.
Carry on task as delegated by the supervisor.
Supervise stretcher bearers and patient navigators daily to ensure tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently.
Ensure all team members are familiar with all service locations within the project and can appropriately support patient navigation when required.
Prepare the monthly duty roster in line with HR and organizational policies governing working schedules.
Ensure all staff periodically feedback and feed-forward is completed, and share the copy with supervisor, L&D, and the HR department, while following up to ensure that agreed objectives and other needs are achieved.
Collaborate with HR to ensure all staff plan and take annual leave before year-end.
Allocate daily duties to team members, ensuring full coverage of all required service points or duty allocation.
Ensure all staff respect reporting, closing, and break times while on duty.
Collaborate with the Nursing Team Supervisor to ensure all staff know about the Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) kit, including how and who to report to in case of exposure.
Organize monthly team meetings to give and receive feedback; escalate challenges to the supervisor and follow up on implementation of required corrective actions.
Provide backup support by performing team tasks during emergencies or unforeseen absences, while coordinating with the supervisor and HR for temporary replacements.
Ensure medical mobility items (wheelchairs, stretchers, etc.) are properly cleaned between patient use to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
Work closely with the team to ensure all beneficiaries are treated with dignity and respect, are safeguarded within the environment, and can express concerns or complaints through the appropriate channels.
Immediately report any internal or external security threats to the supervisor/operations for appropriate action.
Ensure good communication within the team and other units as required.
Resolve conflicts within the team and promote activities that strengthen cohesion, unity, and motivation toward organizational goals.

Salary is not negotiable.
Income tax deduction at source will be applicable based on the current income tax rule.
Festival bonus entitlement is effective upon completing one (01) year of uninterrupted services with MSF.
There are no provisions for relocations.
