Job Context:
∎ S. A GROUP OF INDUSTRIES is looking for an experienced person for the position of Head of Logistics & Transport Management.
∎ Job Location : Chattogram (the applicant should be able to commit to stay longer period of time in Chattogram)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The incumbent's duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
∎ Dealing with various interest groups to manage the supply chain accordingly through coordinating with sales, marketing & distribution to achieve the goal.
∎ Ensuring smooth delivery of company goods in all over the country.
∎ Management of all depot operation and maintenance of depot vehicle.
∎ Handling of all Drivers/Helpers of the company.
∎ Dealing with local authority and law enforcement authority regarding transport issues.
∎ Managing down trip and up trip of company vehicle.
∎ Ensuring the stocks are properly stored to prevent from damage, loss, pilferage or mixing with other orders using the knowledge of inventory management and material handling.
∎ Work with procurement managers and buyers to source the right products.
∎ Negotiate contracts with suppliers and customers.
∎ Control manufacturing and delivery processes.
∎ Plan and implement logistical strategy, ensuring targets are met.
∎ Oversee product storage, handling and distribution.
∎ Use computer software to track goods from origin to delivery.
∎ Work on forecasts and inventories, keeping an accurate record of the process and analyzing performance.
∎ Manage the costs involved while maintaining quality.
∎ Ensure you're aware of exactly what is happening throughout the supply chain.
∎ Manage and motivate a team of supply chain staff.
∎ Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process
∎ Develop new and existing relationships with suppliers.
∎ Manage and minimize the risks (for example operational or reputational) that could affect or interrupt the supply chain.
∎ Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 45 years
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ At least 10 years working experience.
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
∎ Manufacturing (FMCG)
∎ Strong planning skills.
∎ Ability to effect change and implement new ideas.
∎ Work with inter-dependent departments for smooth functional processes.
∎ Computer literacy (MS Word & MS Excel) is must.
