Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop and execute the annual production plan and budget for hatchery operations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and financial targets
∎ Drive implementation of the production strategy to consistently meet or exceed profitability benchmarks in accordance with the approved budget
∎ Oversee comprehensive operations of the Vannamei shrimp hatchery, encompassing brood stock management, larval rearing, and post-larvae (PL) production to ensure high survival and quality rates
∎ Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure seamless product distribution, while continuously striving to enhance product quality and elevate customer satisfaction
∎ Enforce rigorous biosecurity measures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain disease-free and contamination-controlled hatchery environments
∎ Continuously monitor key environmental and biological parameters, including water quality, larval health indices, and feeding regimes to ensure optimal conditions for larval growth and development
∎ Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of technical and operational staff, ensuring capacity building through regular training, coaching, and performance assessments
∎ Ensure full compliance with internal policies and regulatory frameworks, maintaining alignment with both organizational standards and government mandates.
∎ Contribute to research and development (R&D) efforts, introducing innovations and best practices aimed at enhancing hatchery efficiency, sustainability, and biosecurity
∎ Report regularly to the Project Lead – Vannamei, providing data-driven insights on production performance, operational challenges, and strategic solutions for continuous improvement
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
∎ Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by management
