∎ The Gender Based Violence (GBV) Coordinator will be over seeing the activities and staff in the WGSS and the mobile teams. He / She will be providing direct technical support to the teams in the field with the support from the GBV Programme Manager, in addition to the day to day management of the WGSS team leaders and technical supervision to the program officers.
∎ The GBV Coordinator will be also supporting in setting staffing plans, procurement and spending plans, coordinate closely with the program support teams to ensure that all the needs fulfilled.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical Project Management:
∎ Lead assessments to identify protection risks, map points of service for survivors of GBV and vulnerable individuals and identify points of entry and support structures for reinforcement.
∎ Analyze trends of GBV and develop/adjust program strategies to meet needs.
∎ Support the Programme manager in designing program concept notes and proposals.
∎ Build capacity of team to offer appropriate referral and support to GBV survivors;
∎ Develop and strengthen GBV referral systems;
∎ Develop protocols for information collection and sharing;
∎ Train other program staff to integrate GBV and risk mitigation into various sector interventions.
∎ Coordinate with community leaders and women's associations/groups to strengthen support and information networks;
∎ Compile regular program reports and data;
∎ Provide assistance on GBV prevention and response programming, supporting and empowering partners and DCA staff to create, effective and comprehensive programming
∎ Provide technical support to ensure program quality, inclusive of regular technical monitoring of case management and PSS services under the program
∎ Project management through follow-up of proposal and budget: identification of needs, assessment, leading procurement request and design of monitoring and activities tools.
∎ Support team members and key actors to adopt internationally recognized best practices, proven tools, methodologies on GBV, working collaboratively to ensure their relevance for the context and successful implementation;
∎ Ensure field concerns and challenges are brought to relevant stakeholders to push for standards and procedures that systematize how GBV is implemented and coordinated at the camps level.
∎ Contribute to reports, sitrep and to the preparation of new proposals.
∎ Assist in proposal development activities (narrative and budget) through planning and program design with relevant field-based staff
∎ Design and facilitate relevant training for staff and others.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Understanding of emergency response and four years of relevant professional experience, including experience in gender, GBV, Women's Empowerment or protection programming;
∎ Strong management experience and ability to work well with a team;
∎ Proven experience in developing and delivering training and of group facilitation;
∎ Demonstrated sensitivity to protection issues, including application of the principle of confidentiality;
∎ Ability to exercise sound judgment;
∎ Extremely strong communication skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural and sensitive issues;
∎ Excellent qualitative and quantitative reporting skills;
∎ Strong problem-solving and innovation to address gaps and challenges;
∎ Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to produce timely and high quality of work;
∎ Demonstrated high level of flexibility, responsiveness, and reliability;
∎ Ability to work under pressure and strong time management skills to meet both short-term and long-term objectives;
∎ Strict adherence to humanitarian and Protection principles and standards, as well as organizational policies including Code of Conduct and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA);
∎ Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
∎ Fluency in both Bangla and English.
