Job Context:

∎ Contract period: 01.1.2023 to 30.11.2025 (35 months)

∎ Location: Chokoria under Cox`s Bazar & Sitakundu under Chittagong
∎ Name of Project: Enhancing Food and Nutrition Security Through Promoting Climate Resilient Livelihood Opportunities and DRR Practice in Cox`s Bazar and Chittagong
∎ The Field Officer/Extension Worker will be responsible for organizing all Agriculture and Livestock related activities and other project activities in the field level. Responsible to organize and facilitate several agro based training and workshop, establish agriculture demonstration firm, farmers field schools, develop resources farmers, seed bank, technical support to farmers, effective network etc. as per requirement of the project.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical support to Income Generating and agro based activities of targeted beneficiaries.
∎ Assist Training Officer and Agriculture & livestock officer to organise and conduct training.
∎ Regular monitor of Farmers Field Schools
∎ Aware and motivate target beneficiaries for vaccination of their animals, introducing with demonstration and new trial set, letting them attend different training and other issue-based adoption in the community.
∎ Ensure agricultural activities, create alternative livelihoods opportunity and crop diversification by applying improve technologies. Organize vaccination camp, supervise & monitor to local services providers (PLEW, Agriculture & fishery extension workers and AI technicians)
∎ Increase community awareness on climate resilience adaption; ensure emergency response on any natural disaster or hazards.
∎ Achieve the monthly targets throughout the planned activities and work plan
∎ Direct intervention & support on homestead gardening like - sack gardening, kite gardening, rhizome basket ready compost, grafting & budding mixed cropping seasonal vegetable etc. to the field.
∎ Organize at the field level training capacity and skill building training to the Resource Farmers (RF), Livestock Service Provider (LSP) and extension worker.
∎ Organize training (Goat Rearing/Vegetable Gardening/ off and on farm/Packaging/Nursery/Seed Preservation/Small business etc.)
∎ Participate in data collection, mapping exercises and organize interviews and as part of the base line survey conduction

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ At least 2 years of experience of in the sector of Agriculture, Livelihood etc.
∎ Field Workers/ Extension worker are the front-line workers who mobilize all sorts of social works with the grassroots beneficiaries
∎ Field Workers/Extension Worker will be responsible organizing the group, conducting fortnightly issue based dialogue sessions.
∎ Knowledge and practical experience on establish agriculture demonstration firms, farmer's field schools, develop resources farmers, seed bank, integrated farming system, homestead agriculture, kitchen garden, livestock etc.
∎ Ability to communicate with local level stakeholders
∎ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
∎ Experience in planning and managing surveys, developing and refining data collection tools, and with data quality assessments and oversight
∎ Practical, quick, reasoning skills; must be able to communicate with beneficiaries of the project
∎ Able to work and manage in a hardship post and willingness to frequently travel in and out of field

Salary: Tk. 22000 (Monthly)
