• Bachelor's or Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design or Apparel Design
• 4–8 years of proven experience in Ethnic Wear within leading Bangladeshi retail fashion brands
• Strong portfolio showcasing commercial retail collections and product development expertise
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, CLO 3D or similar design software
• Strong knowledge of trend forecasting, garment construction, pattern, fit, fabrics, color, prints & embellishments
• Excellent creativity, commercial awareness, planning, communication & cross-functional collaboration skills
Responsibilities & Context
Fashion Step Group is expanding its Retail Fashion Design Team and is looking for a highly creative, trend-driven, and commercially focused Fashion Designer / Sr. Fashion Designer for design and development of premium Men's & Women's Ethnic Wear collections for the Bangladeshi retail market.
Role Overview
Lead end-to-end fashion design and product development for Men's & Women's Ethnic Wear, translating global and local trends into commercially successful retail collections through strong design innovation, fabric selection, garment aesthetics, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
• Research fashion trends, consumer insights, market intelligence & competitor products
• Develop seasonal mood boards, color stories, concepts & commercially viable collections
• Create CADs, technical sketches, artworks, tech packs & design specifications
• Select fabrics, trims, embellishments, prints & washes aligned with brand identity
• Ensure excellence in garment construction, fit, silhouette, grading & finishing
• Coordinate with Merchandising, Sourcing, Sample, Production & QA teams from concept to commercialization
• Review samples, fittings & approvals ensuring design accuracy and product quality
• Drive innovation through new materials, techniques & value-added product development
• Ensure timely execution while maintaining cost efficiency and brand standards
