Job Context:
∎ MUKTA is a luxury womenswear brand that has quickly made a mark in the fashion industry. In a short span of time, it has become synonymous to elegant design & quality, and has been donned by both celebrities & fashionistas.
∎ Now, we are looking to expand our team and hire an artistic fashion designer to join our product development team.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conduct market research to identify new trends, fabrics, and technique.
∎ Create initial sketches from conceptual ideas and mood-boards.
∎ Assist production team to source, as well as select colours, fabrics, trims, accessories for design.
∎ Create compositions for embroidery or digital print patterns.
∎ Create technical flat drawing for primary pattern development.
∎ Overseeing the sample production by follow up from sample team
∎ Have necessary knowledge for calculating fabric and accessory shrinkage.
∎ Assist in fitting session and make notes of modifications needed to be made to samples to discuss with sample team later.
∎ Assist in creating tech packs for mass production.
∎ Identify potential production, quality and costing issues and make recommendations to ensure brand integrity.
∎ Visit the various local fabric and accessories market on a regular basis to research the latest raw material for the product line.
∎ You will also have to co-ordinate with different manufacturing facilities and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of products.
∎ Must have good knowledge of wash techniques and various print media.
∎ Assist in styling and coordinating campaign photoshoots.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ A Bachelors Degree in fashion design or a related field, but applicable experience may be substituted for education in special case.
∎ Strong written and verbal communications skills.
∎ Knowledge of garment construction and fit standards.
∎ Live model fitting experience.
∎ Expertise in pattern-making including grading, construction and fit.
∎ Knowledge of construction standards and manufacturing methods.
∎ Ability to proactively trouble-shoot and problem solve.
∎ Ability to convey necessary corrections.
∎ Ability to work in high volume department and interact with multiple cross-functions.
∎ Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
∎ Strong sense of teamwork and ability to multitask.
∎ Strong computer skills (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word)
